My name is Emily Baumoel. I grew up in Beverly, Massachusetts but currently live in Vermont since am studying neuroscience at the University of Vermont. I always knew about the Epilepsy Foundation since epilepsy is something that runs in my family, but I never knew I could serve with the Epilepsy Foundation as an undergraduate. After I participated in biking 126 miles for 1 in 26 people diagnosed with epilepsy, I knew I wanted to get more involved. I found the perfect opportunity when I overheard an Epilepsy Foundation meeting on my college campus. I am studying neuroscience so that I can eventually go to med school and become a neurologist. After my service I plan to start that process. Outside of EFNE and school, I love to cook, go on hikes, and play games with my friends.
