AmeriCorps Member

Madona came to the Epilepsy Foundation New England’s AmeriCorps program because she has ample experience with seizures and how they can impact a family’s life. Her daughter, Lola, had a rare genetic neurological disorder called Rhett Syndrome, and complications from her condition resulted in her death nearly 10-years-ago. Because seizures are often present with Rhett syndrome, Madona’s first-hand knowledge brought her to the AmeriCorps program with the hope of helping the epilepsy community navigate all aspects of daily life with seizures. She wanted to use her “know how” to make things better for others. Today, when not helping those in need, Madona spends time with her grown daughters. She also likes to visit with friends, and when she is able, she enjoys trips to her native country, Lebanon.
