Planned Giving
Leave a Legacy That Provides Hope for Tomorrow
We are so incredibly appreciative of those who have named EFNE in their Planned Giving. Regardless of amount, these gifts make a significant impact on our ability to provide programs and services to meet the needs of people with epilepsy today, and in the future. When making a Legacy gift, you allow us to invest in new endeavors to support those living with epilepsy and help to ensure the Foundation is here for decades to come.
Legacy gifts, or planned gifts, are made in the future upon your passing. Legacy gifts are an effective way for you to reduce income and estate taxes passed on to heirs and make a larger gift - whether that be through wills or estate planning in the form of a bequest, naming us as the beneficiary of a life insurance policy or retirement account, a Charitable Remainder Trust, or other form of charitable giving.
Ready to Join the Cause? If you would like to leave a legacy, please consider naming the Epilepsy Foundation New England in your Planned Giving. Once you have made your arrangements, please notify us of your intent so we can thank you TODAY and welcome you into Hope’s Purple Legacy!
Consult your financial advisor or estate planning attorney when making the decision to give a planned gift.
Bequests and Wills
Everyone needs a will, whether you are in your early 20’s or late into your 80’s, it’s best to have your wishes written down so they are carried through. Making a will protects your loved ones and is a powerful way to create a legacy without costing you anything during your lifetime.
You can help people living with epilepsy by Leaving a legacy or bequest for the Epilepsy Foundation New England in your will. We can provide you with sample language to share with your legal advisor. No matter what your financial circumstances are, this is a great way to leave a legacy gift to the Epilepsy Foundation New England.
Life Insurance
If you have a life insurance policy you no longer need, or would like to donate, consider using it to help people with epilepsy. Simply designate the Epilepsy Foundation New England as the beneficiary of the policy.
Trusts
A charitable trust offers a way for donors to make a gift while retaining benefits for themselves or their families. Similar to other types of trusts, the exact terms are quite flexible, except the amount distributed at its termination (the remainder) is paid to a charitable beneficiary. Trusts such as these can offer unique income and estate tax benefits as well as providing a stream of payments to the beneficiaries.
