Katie Kavka is a 5th grader who lives in Andover MA. She was diagnosed with epilepsy at age 7. “She never let the diagnosis stop her: she loves playing hockey, soccer, softball, and acting,” said her mother Karen. Katie is also Miss Junior PreTeen Massachusetts. “Katie is an inspiration to all of us. Katie volunteers with Epilepsy Foundation New England for hours each month – as a leader in our virtual programs and camps, holding a clothing drive, and much more. Katie and her family are always asking, “How can I help?” Thank you for all you do and congratulations on being named our Volunteer of the Month!
