What to Expect

Departing at 6PM sharp, no exceptions. 

Please plan on a 5:30 PM arrival at Rowes Wharf to ensure you have enough time. 

Cruise around Boston Harbor, enjoy the sunset  

Learn from Dr. Phil Haydon and his Sail for Epilepsy team about his epilepsy journey, the one more step challenge,  and more!

Return to Rowes Wharf around 8PM and disembark the vessel.

Light snacks provided - feel free to bring drink/food on board!

About Sail For Epilepsy

Phil and the Sail For Epilepsy team offer an empowering family-friend afternoon of nautical activities and community connections. Possible lessons include learning how to tie some knots, how to find the north star and predict sunset, and helping to make a flag that will be flown on future Sail For Epilepsy voyages. Phil will give a brief presentation about his journey with epilepsy and invite attendees to become a Virtual Shipmate by taking the One More Step Challenge. This is a great opportunity for participants to meet other people in the community who are affected by epilepsy.

More people live with epilepsy than with autism spectrum disorders, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and cerebral palsy – combined. Yet, this disorder is not widely understood by the general public. In speaking to local community members, Sail For Epilepsy seeks to raise awareness about epilepsy and provide insight on causes, treatments, and current research, from a personal and scientific perspective. The audience will leave armed with some basic facts about epilepsy and hear ways people living with epilepsy are living full lives, with the necessary safety measures in place.

Rowes Warf is a few blocks from South Station, as well as the Aquarium Blue Line stop.  Parking is available at the Rowes Wharf Garage.
