Portsmouth River Cruise with Sail For Epilepsy
Join us and Phil Haydon from Sail for Epilepsy for an afternoon on the Piscataqua River! Enjoy a sail aboard a traditional reproduction of the flat-bottom gundalow barges once prevalent along local waterways. Hear about Phil's recent sailing adventures and how he lives life to the fullest despite epilepsy. Learn how to tie knots that sailors use at this family-friendly event. Meet other members of the local epilepsy community.
July 15th, from 3 pm – 5 pm. Plan to arrive by 2:45 pm for an on-time departure.
Admission is FREE but space is limited – RSVP by July 7th!
In case of inclement weather, we will attempt to reschedule for a future date and will alert all attendees on the morning of the sail if necessary.
What to bring:
- Food and drink are allowed onboard.
- Plan on the weather being slightly cooler on the water – a light jacket or extra layer is recommended on a cool day.
- Sunscreen & hats are recommended on sunny days.
Accessibility:
The ramp, dock, and boat are all wheelchair accessible. The tide will be low at the end of the cruise so the ramp down to the dock will be at its steepest. Help will be available as needed. The restrooms on the boat are located below deck and only accessed via stairs.
