Joey Gaulin
Programs and Services Specialist
Joey Gaulin brings a diverse background in healthcare education and experience to his role at EFNE. After completing 4.5 years in the PharmD program at the University of Rhode Island (URI), Joey shifted his career focus towards medicine. He earned his EMT-Basic and pharmacy technician licenses before enrolling at Rhode Island College (RIC), where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology.
While at RIC, Joey became deeply involved in neuroendocrinology research and volunteered extensively as a medical scribe, hospice volunteer, Patient Care VISTA, and in various roles at a local hospital. In December 2022, he began an AmeriCorps service term with EFNE as a community health worker (CHW), where he worked closely with clients to support their health and well-being.
Following two successful years of AmeriCorps service with the Foundation, Joey joined EFNE’s team as a Programs and Services Specialist in November 2024. In this role, he manages EFNE’s financial aid program and contributes to client care and group programming through the Care Management Program. Joey’s hands-on experience as a CHW equips him with a unique perspective that helps EFNE continue to enhance the quality of life for people living with epilepsy across New England.
In his free time, Joey enjoys rollerblading, going to the gym, and exploring local bakeries in search of delicious pastries. He aspires to pursue a career in primary care, neurology, or psychiatry after completing medical school.
