Samantha Torres, MA

My name is Samantha Torres I am an AmeriCorps member and I started serving with the Epilepsy Foundation of New England as a Community health worker in summer of 2022. I was drawn to the foundation because I have a great aunt who has epilepsy, I also had a dear sister in-law who passed away early 2022 that had epilepsy. Since I was a little girl, I had a strong desire for helping the world become a better place. I want to see happier, healthier, loved filled people and working with the foundation, I am able to contribute to doing that. Knowing I can make a positive impact on someone's life through the foundation allows me to be a part of their personal journey and how they are affected by epilepsy and the foundation helps makes the lives of those individuals easier, also puts more passion in my heart to help, support and supply resources to individuals in need. After serving for the foundation, I will major in Art Therapy for children and adolescents to express their trauma and heal through their personal form of art.
