Press Release 1.23.25 - Rappel Boston Returns
100 People To Brave The Side of One of Cambridge’s Biggest Buildings to Fight Epilepsy
Saturday, June 14, 2025
(Cambridge, MA) A heart-pounding climb will help provide life-changing care for people living with epilepsy in New England as registration opens for Epilepsy Foundation New England’s (EFNE) second annual Rappel Boston event. On June 14, 2025, 100 daring individuals will ascend to the top of the Hyatt Regency in Cambridge, where they’ll rappel down more than a dozen stories along the side of the building, all while a cheering crowd eagerly awaits their arrival below. The event raises money for much-needed support groups, scholarships, Purple Camp, financial aid, seizure first-aid training, educational webinars, research grants, and more. Space is very limited, anyone interested in stepping over the edge can sign up at RappelBoston.org.
“This is one of the most unique ways to experience Boston and support an excellent cause in the process, creating a positive impact in the lives of 110,000 people living with Epilepsy in New England,” said Josh Drew, Epilepsy Foundation New England’s Director of Development. “Funds raised from this event will help children attend inclusive summer camps, help provide all individuals with epilepsy a sense of community through events and support groups, train first responders and medical professionals in life-saving care, and so much more.”
Climbers looking to rappel will need to raise $1,000 for EFNE, an independent 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization that serves individuals living with epilepsy. The event will run from 10:00 AM through dusk with climbers heading out throughout the day. No experience or prior training is needed to register. The Over the Edge staff consists of a team of experts providing the technical expertise, training, and equipment required who possess an outstanding safety record.
Rappel Boston will take place Saturday, June 14, 2025 at the Hyatt Regency in Cambridge (575 Memorial Drive, Cambridge, MA). Registration is open now at RappelBoston.org
