Helping with Financial Assistance
Epilepsy Foundation New England receives numerous financial assistance requests each month.
While we may not be able to assist in every case, we are always prepared to connect clients with additional resources. These resources, often state or federal-based, can help reduce utility bills, provide fuel assistance, secure housing, and address many other needs.
Here is the story of one client the Foundation was able to support:
Martha came to us seeking help with the copay for a new medication. While EFNE was able to provide a one-time financial award, our team went above and beyond to ensure her long-term needs were met. We worked with Martha to secure a new Medicare Part D plan, saving her $2,000 annually. Additionally, we helped her obtain a tier exception, reducing her future copays to $0.
To ensure Martha continued receiving her critical anti-seizure medication, EFNE collaborated with the pharmaceutical company to overcome financial barriers. Finally, we helped reduce Martha’s monthly Part D premium from $120 to just $0.50.
Stories like Martha’s exemplify why Epilepsy Foundation New England is committed to serving our local community. Through programs, services, and assistance, we provide Help for Today and Hope for Tomorrow.
