Joseph's HOPE Scholarship Benefit Concert
Join us for a day of great food, fun with friends, and rock n' roll!
This event was established by Frank and Vicky Salituro in honor of their son who died at the age of 27 from Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP) in 2011.
Entertainment will be provided by Frank's band, Almost the Cure, and all proceeds will go towards granting scholarships to students with epilepsy seeking higher education. Appetizers will be provided and additional food may be purchased.
About the Band
Almost The Cure (ATC) is a rock and roll band formed in January 2018. Combining their day jobs in the pharmaceutical industry with a passion for philanthropy, the band members use their music to raise funds for charitable organizations and people in need. Now entering their eighth year, ATC is still going strong. They have performed at numerous charity events and battle-of-the-bands competitions, playing for hundreds of fans and raising over $380,000 to date for the Joseph’s HOPE scholarship fund to support dozens of young adults pursuing higher education.

Epilepsy can lead to unexpected financial hardship when a child is first diagnosed when previously controlled seizures suddenly stop responding to treatment and require work disruption when breakthrough seizures lead to an inability to drive, and more. Another added challenge is paying for college. This is where the Joseph's HOPE Scholarship Fund can help by offering scholarships to help offset some of these costs. Frank and his wife, Vicky, started the scholarship fund in memory o their son, Joseph, who passed away in 2011 at the age of 27. A note from a recent scholarship recipient: "Thank you so much to Frank and Vicky Salituro for this scholarship! I have been trying to complete my degree for several years, but haven't been able to do so because my seizures have prevented me from working. This scholarship covered the final tuition payment. Thank you!"
