Seizure Training for School Personnel

This program is designed for any school staff member who supports students throughout the day including:
-Teachers
-Paraprofessionals
-Therapists (OT, PT, Speech)
-Guidance Counselors
-Bus Drivers
-Administrative Staff
By the end of this training, participants will be able to:
-Understand the impact of epilepsy on a student’s overall school performance, including academic, social, and emotional well-being.
-Explain how seizures can affect a student’s academic performance, including attention, memory, and classroom participation.
-Recognize and respond to different types of seizures commonly seen in the school setting. –
-Identify and describe three key seizure first aid steps to safely assist a student during a seizure.
-Describe three ways to support students living with epilepsy, promoting inclusion, safety, and confidence in the classroom.
