Dr. Jong Woo Lee, MD, PhD, is the Clinical Director of the Epilepsy Division at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Director of the Brigham Critical Care Monitoring Program. A Harvard College graduate, he earned his medical and doctoral degrees from McGill University and the Montreal Neurological Institute, followed by neurology residency and clinical neurophysiology fellowship training at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital. Board-certified in neurology, epilepsy, and clinical neurophysiology, Dr. Lee specializes in critical care EEG, status epilepticus, cardiac arrest prognostication, brain tumor–associated seizures, SUDEP, and the medical management of epilepsy. His innovative work includes co-developing Korus, a medical-grade smart mattress designed to reposition individuals and stimulate them post-seizure to reduce SUDEP risk. Dr. Lee currently serves on the Professional Advisory Board of Epilepsy Foundation New England.
