The Purple Camp

Camp Matty Therapeutic Horseback Riding

This day camp provides children with epilepsy the opportunity to learn to horseback ride in a fun and safe environment, with trained personnel supported by parents and volunteers. Therapeutic horseback riding is considered a uniquely beneficial form of therapy, where muscle strengthening and improved coordination are paralleled by the social and psychological benefits.

In addition to horseback riding, campers enjoy rock climbing, arts & crafts, outdoor games, and other fun activities in a beautiful setting designed to foster a sense of teamwork and friendship among the children. Camp Matty at The Laura Foundation for Autism and Epilepsy is supported by donations from generous sponsors and is also made possible because of the assistance of our many wonderful Camp Matty volunteers.
