Join us at Grotonwood Camp and Conference Center in Groton, MA for a 2-day/1-night "taste of" camp for children and teens with epilepsy! Campers will enjoy a wide range of classic camp activities, while being expected to perform all activities of daily living independently, including tasks like eating, bathing, dressing, and basic hygiene. (Note: No religious activities occur during our Purple Camp.)
All camper applications are submitted to a medical committee to review a camper’s fit for the health, safety, and programming goals and parameters for each camp. Camp is staffed 24 hours a day by a nurse, camp counselors, and Epilepsy Foundation New England staff who have training in seizure recognition and seizure first-aid as well as in working with children with epilepsy who have diverse needs. Neurologists volunteer their time during the day and are on call at night.
