Frank Kenneally is currently the President and CEO of the Merrimack Valley YMCA based in Lawrence, MA, where he oversees three facility branches, two resident camps and an off-site day camp.  Frank has been a leader in the Y Movement for thirty years, all with The Merrimack Valley Y.  He started his career in Camping and Aquatics and has held several Program and Executive positions leading up to being named President and CEO in July 2019.  In addition to his Y work, Frank is very active in the Merrimack Valley Community serving on several volunteer boards and committees.  Frank most recently completed a term as President of the Joseph N. Hermann Youth Center, Inc. Board in North Andover, MA. Frank is also Adjunct Faculty in the Health Sciences Department at Merrimack College in North Andover, MA.

Frank’s youngest son Aaron was diagnosed with Epilepsy when he was in the fourth grade after experiencing two seizures. Aaron was put on medication and seemed to have his epilepsy in check until 7th grade. During an eight month stretch, Aaron had 15 violent seizures.  He then started to be cared for by Dr. Phillip Pearl at Boston Children’s Hospital.  After a few months of new medication, Aaron’s seizures stopped and he has been seizure free for almost three years.  Aaron applied for and was selected to be a Youth Ambassador for the Epilepsy Foundation’s Athlete’s vs. Epilepsy Program.  Over the past two years Aaron has raised over $12,000 for the foundation and has helped educate nearly 100 youth in the signs and symptoms of seizures and what to do if you see someone having a seizure.

Frank is a graduate of Salem State University, earning a B.S. in Sport, Fitness, and Leisure Studies. He also earned a M.S. from Springfield College in Human Services Organizational Leadership and a Certificate in Non-Profit Business Leadership from Mendoza College of Business at The University of Notre Dame.  Frank lives in North Andover, MA with his wife Amy and their three sons Sean, Jason and Aaron.
